Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of Cal Video Description Manager (the “API Client”), operated by Barton Media LLC. By accessing or using the API Client, the authorized user agrees to these Terms and the incorporated policies and third-party terms described below.

If the authorized user does not agree, the user must not connect a Google account or use the API Client.

2. Private internal purpose

The API Client is designed for internal use by Barton Media LLC to review, back up, and update video descriptions and related resource links on a channel owned or controlled by Barton Media LLC. It is not licensed or offered as a public software service and does not have outside paying users.

3. Account authorization

The user must authorize access through Google OAuth 2.0 and may connect only an account and channel that the user owns, manages, or is otherwise authorized to administer.

The user is responsible for:

• keeping the local computer and application files secure;
• protecting OAuth credentials and Google Cloud credentials from unauthorized access;
• reviewing every proposed description change before execution;
• confirming that links, disclosures, claims, and offer information are accurate and lawful;
• using only the Google Cloud project and API credentials assigned to this API Client; and
• complying with all applicable platform policies and laws.

4. YouTube and Google terms

The API Client uses YouTube API Services. By using the API Client, the user also agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Use of the API Client is also subject to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Developer Policies, applicable Google API terms, and the Google Privacy Policy.

YouTube and Google are not sponsors of, responsible for, or affiliated with Cal Video Description Manager or Barton Media LLC merely because the API Client uses their services.

5. Permitted and prohibited use

The API Client may be used only for its documented internal channel-management purpose. The user must not:

• use the API Client to manage a channel without authorization;
• share, publish, sell, or expose API credentials or OAuth tokens;
• use the API Client to automate views, likes, comments, subscriptions, harassment, spam, deceptive engagement, or other abusive activity;
• circumvent quotas, access undocumented APIs, misrepresent the API Client’s identity, or use another party’s API project;
• submit updates without reviewing and approving the affected videos and proposed content;
• use API Data for surveillance, profiling, resale, or unrelated advertising purposes; or
• violate law, intellectual-property rights, YouTube policies, Google policies, or third-party rights.

6. Description updates and user control

The API Client may generate or display suggested description text, but the user retains final control. Before any write request, the API Client presents the proposed changes and requires the user to select the affected videos and manually start the update job.

The user is solely responsible for confirming that every link, disclosure, sponsorship statement, product claim, and other piece of content is current and appropriate before publication.

7. Privacy and data deletion

Information practices are described in the Privacy Policy. Instructions for revoking access and removing local API Data are provided on the Data Deletion page.

8. Availability and changes

The API Client may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Features may stop functioning because of API changes, quota restrictions, account permissions, Google or YouTube service changes, software errors, network failures, or other causes.

9. Disclaimers

THE API CLIENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

Backups, previews, link checks, validations, and undo functions reduce risk but do not guarantee that content, links, affiliate attribution, offers, or external websites are accurate or available.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barton Media LLC and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost revenue, lost data, account restrictions, publishing errors, quota loss, or interruption arising from use of the API Client.

11. Suspension, revocation, and termination

Access may be suspended or terminated if the API Client is used outside its authorized purpose, if credentials are compromised, if required by Google or YouTube, or if continued operation could create security, legal, or compliance risk.

When use ends, the user must stop accessing YouTube API Services through the API Client, revoke authorization, and delete applicable API Data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to the API Client, YouTube or Google requirements, or applicable law. The effective date will be revised when updated Terms are published.
