Cal Video Description Manager is a private desktop application used by Barton Media LLC to review, back up, and update resource links and standardized description sections across its own authenticated channel, and to upload the channel’s own finished videos as private drafts for the owner to review and publish manually.
What the application does
The application reduces repetitive maintenance while preserving the channel owner’s final control over every change sent through the YouTube Data API.

Preview
Shows the exact before-and-after description, validates the proposed content, and lets the user choose which videos will be changed.

Update
Creates a local backup and submits approved description updates. The application does not automate views, likes, comments, subscriptions, or audience engagement.

Upload (private only)
When a video the channel owner produced is finished, uploads that file to the owner’s channel as a private video with the title the owner chose. It never publishes, schedules, or changes visibility: the owner reviews every upload in YouTube Studio and publishes it manually.

This application is not offered to the public, does not charge users, and does not sell or share YouTube API Data. Its purpose is limited to maintaining descriptions and related resource links, and uploading the channel’s own finished videos as private drafts, on a channel owned and operated by Barton Media LLC.

Data and access at a glance
OAuth authorization
The channel owner signs in through Google OAuth 2.0 and grants only two permissions: uploading videos (youtube.upload) and managing the channel’s own video details (youtube.force-ssl), which is needed to read and update descriptions.
Local storage
Application settings, scanned metadata, backups, and job records are stored on the authorized user’s computer rather than in a public customer database.
Revocable access
Authorization can be disconnected in the application or revoked through Google’s security settings. The deletion process is explained on the Data Deletion page.
